Summary:
A Production Operator primary purpose is to remove molded parts from the molding machine, inspect parts for defects, and package the good quality parts according to standard work instructions.
The Production Operator must handle primary duties with the understanding that he/she is working in a safe manner and working within the Company's policies.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Inspect 100% of the parts for defects and verify labels match standard work instructions by means of looking at, touching, and possibly using measuring devices to insure defect-free parts.
Remove molded parts from molding machines.
Pack only clean, good quality parts as required in standard work instructions.
Mark and save suspected defective parts as indicated in the work instructions and place in designated areas.
Perform all assigned duties within the expected timeframe and keep up with the cycle of the machine.
Notify Supervisor or Quality Tech of any non-conforming issue related to your specific task.
Follow the Operator Work & Packaging Instruction Sheet found in the Job Packet or Instruction Board for every job run.
Communicate all job information to break/relief operators.
Communicate all job information to incoming operators during shift change.
Accurately complete job ticket and return to supervisor at end of shift.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment while complying with company procedures regarding safety and environmental regulations.
Immediately notify your supervisor regarding any/all injuries or problems that may arise during your shift.
Arrive to work on time and returning from breaks/meal periods.
Performs all duties in accordance to TransNav standards and ISO/IATF requirements.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of operations in the plant and quality systems.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities may include acting as a relief operator doing the following:
Covering fellow operators in assigned work area first, then assist in other areas if needed.
Every operator's break is to be covered by a relief; no operator is to leave their assigned work area without being relieved by another operator.
When not covering breaks, provide support in assigned work area, to include (but not limited to):
making packaging, helping get overflow caught up, scanning finished goods, making labels, obtaining components needed, cleaning, and assist on presses when needed.
If necessary, assist other reliefs in giving breaks in their assigned areas.
Reliefs are expected to remain in their assigned area unless assisting with breaks in other areas.
Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Ability to comprehend and perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and multiplication) Ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable Federal and State OSHA regulations along with maintaining ISO and IATF requirements.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least one year of related experience or Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on feet, using hand/power tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Must be able to lift to 35 pounds at a time.
Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.
