The Utilities Shop is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all utility systems including; water distribution, underground and overhead primary and and secondary, electrical power. storm and sanitary sewers, POL systems, emergency generator power systems, aircraft arresting systems, and airfield lighting systems. 1. Installs, modifies, tests, repairs and maintains transformers, converters, regulators, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic systems, and other circuit elements found in substations. 2. installs, modifies, connects, inspects, and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines both, primary and secondary voltages. 3. Troubleshoot, primary overhead and underground distribution circuits and generating and controlling equipment. 4. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. 5. Uses and maintains various hand and power tools and test equipment 6. Tests, maintains, and makes additions to lightning protection systems in accordance with governing Air Force Instructions, Technical Orders, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC's) and National Fire Protection Agency 7. Operates one or more types od gasoline or diesel powered special purpose clearing equipment, including snow removal equipment and vacuum type sweepers to clear runways, taxiways, ramps, aprons, streets and parking areas of snow, ice or foreign objects. 8.
