Commissary Contractor Monitor

This is a developmental position. Work assignments are progressively complex and intended to broaden your skills and provide you with practical experience to prepare you to perform at the target grade level. At the target grade level the major duties are:
Conduct quality assurance inspections and contractor surveillance. Provide comments and recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes to contractor services to ensure compliance with DeCA directives. Approve or rejects contractor's work schedule and checks work for quality and timeliness. Maintain the store's allocations program by such duties as designating to the contractor proper item shelf locations when shelf tags are missing or otherwise not identifiable. Advise commissary or contracted order writers. Act as the commissary manager's representative during the night time hours to ensure government property is secure. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at GS-04 or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. OR Four years above high school from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education (https:

Candidates applying under merit promotion must have completed three months of civilian service after a competitive appointment by the closing date of the announcement. (5 CFR 330.501) Examples of specialized experience include:
Conduct quality assurance inspections and contract surveillance duties specified commissary or retail grocery contract services. Apply retail grocery store administration policies and procedures as they relate to established contracts. Monitor vendors and or contractors in a retail setting to ensure proper inventory.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
